Holiday cards get the star treatment
This was an annual story featuring holiday cards that benefit charities, so the challenge was to do something different than what had been done in the past. The reporter gave me about ten of the prettiest cards to be shot for the cover. As I stared at them, wondering how I was going to make a cover, I discovered if I put six together, spine-to spine, I could create a snowflake-like shape. I collaborated with photographer Erik Lunsford in the photo studio to create the “snowflake” using similarly-sized cards (not the pretty ones) and little plastic snowflakes on blue velvet.
